May. Maybe winter is finally gone!
It seems like Spring arrived here in fits and starts, with a few warm days followed by a return to colder weather. Now it's May. Maybe winter is finally gone! May is when planning for our summer program kicks into high gear. I'm putting the finishing touches on our Summer Quest brochure, and adding a registration link for our STEAM camp to its listing on our website. I'm sorry, it doesn't look like a link -- formatting issue -- but if you click on the URL (web address), it

Celebrate! Celebrate!
Our Friends of the Library's Death by Chocolate fundraiser is always a festive and enjoyable event. This year's was especially lively. Books and Chocolate
These are a few of my favorite things : books and chocolate. And cats, but we can't have a cat in the library -- some people are allergic. However, we do have books -- and as I write this, we have chocolate, too! Yes, after missing out for two years due to Covid-19, Death by Chocolate is back!!! If you're not familiar with Death by Chocolate , it is the annual (at least, until Covid-19) chocolate creation contest and auction that our wonderful Friends of the Meyersdale Pub

Meyersdale Memories
Meyersdale will celebrate its 150th Anniversary -- Sesquicentennial -- next year in 2024. For 122 of those years, it had a weekly newspaper originally called the Meyersdale Republican, and more lately The New Republic. The New Republic is no more, but a treasure trove of photos and negatives from its past are currently in residence in our Pennsylvania Room. We thank publisher George Menser for his generosity. This is the background behind our newest program, The Way We Were
