Services

Meyersdale Public Library offers a variety of services to the general public. We are happy to answer any questions you might have.

Public Computers:

Computer and Internet use are available to the public at no charge. Prints can be made for $0.20 per page. Computer users are required to sign in at the front desk. Headphones are available.

Free Wi-Fi Internet Access:

Free wireless Internet service is offered to the public. Please ask the library staff for more information.

Copy Service:

Black and white copies can be made for $0.20 per printed side for letter size and $0.25 for legal size. Letter-sized color copies are $.40 per printed side.

Fax Service:

The library will send and/or receive faxes at a cost of $1.00 per page. A confirmation receipt will be provided for pages sent at no cost.

paper shredder for public use:
We have a high-capacity paper shredder available for public use.  Please call for an appointment to use it.  This service is free, though donations are appreciated.
Book Sale:

Our Friends of the Library Book Sale Shelf is always stocked with books in good condition. At times, older books, videos, and audio books are available.

Genealogy and Local History
Research Assistance:

We take great pride in our library’s tradition of service in the area of genealogy and local history. Please see our Local History page for further information.

Outreach Service:

The Library Director is available to read at your school, head start, pre-k, daycare, or homeschool group. This service typically includes a story, an interactive game or song, and an activity packet for the children to take home. Please contact the library for additional information or to schedule a program at your facility. There is no charge for this service.

Career Services:

A bulletin board with job postings is available.

Staff can also facilitate contact with Career Link representatives.

Preschool Story Hour:

Preschool Story Hour is normally offered on Fridays from 10-11am, October through May.

Annual Summer Reading Program:

Summer Quest is offered during the summer for children. There are also summer reading

programs for teens, and adults.  Please visit our Programs and Events page for further information.

STEM kits:

We have STEM project kits for all ages available to check out.

Play-K kits:

We have Play-K kits, built around an educational theme, available to check out.

Barbara Lint Walukas Memorial Learning Center:

The Learning Center room comes equipped with table and chairs for 9, a single computer station, and white board. It can be used for such events as tutoring sessions, study groups, and small group meetings involving not-for-profit community organizations. If you require the use of the Learning Center, please make arrangements in advance. We cannot guarantee availability; pre-scheduled uses will take priority over walk-in requests. Call (814) 634-0512 for more information, or to arrange a time to use the room. Capacity of this room is quite limited at this time.
