Join Air Force veteran George Menser, former editor of Meyersdale's "New Republic" newspaper, for a look at "The Pride of the Navy," the Blue Angels precision flight team. He may also provide a peek into the National Naval Aviation Museum located at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, the base where the Blue Angels practice.

Do you enjoy looking through old photos, sharing memories, and preserving local history? The Way We Were Club may be for you! The library now has thousands of photos and negatives, covering a multitude of subjects, we're received from Meyersdale's former New Republic newspaper. If you like technology, we can even show you how to scan photos for digital preservation! There is no set schedule for the club. It is up to members to decide when they want to come.

IT'S THE "SPOOKY SEASON!" ... The forests surrounding Big Savage Tunnel are home to a nearly century-old secret known by someone lying in an unmarked grave in Meyersdale's Union Cemetery. Visit our Meyersdale Public Library to hear Lynn Shaffer's CAMPFIRE TALE of John "Jackie" Erdlin and his murdered farmhand - a "Gomer Hollow" mystery left unsolved since 1932.
Lynn will share her campfire tale at our library beginning at 6:30 p.m. on both Thursday, October 16th, and Tuesday, October 28th. Join us on one of these dates for an evening of spooky storytelling!

Are you a writer, or aspiring writer? Join our writers' group, Pen & Prose! Whether you write short stories, essays, poetry, or are trying to write the Great American Novel, get constructive feedback on your work in a safe, friendly environment. New to the group? Bring a sample of your writing, if you have one to share, for the group to discuss at the first meeting you attend. (No more than ten pages double-spaced, please!) We typically meet the 2nd Thursday of the month at 5PM.
