Ancestry.com Library Edition is available for use on the computers in our library.

We're sorry, it is not available for use from home.

Our library recently acquired a wonderful collection of local history! Ursina Grand Army of the Republic records are on permanent loan to us by Camp #502 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and its Ladies Auxiliary. Patrons are welcome to stop by the library when the Pennsylvania Room is staffed to view the record books and all the invaluable information they contain. Digital versions are available HERE.

The cost for standard size copies is $.20 per black and white copy and microfilm printout and $.40 per color copy. Legal size copies are $.25 per black and white and $.50 per color copy. Extra large (17 in × 30 in) copies are $.30 and are only available in black and white.

Assistance is available for research via email. Contact us at: jhurl@meyersdalelibrary.org. The charges for research performed by staff are as follows:

  • $15 per hour research fee. After the first hour, the genealogist will determine if further research would prove fruitful. You will be notified at this point and you will be asked if you would like the research to continue.

  • $5.00 per obituary search with exact date of death. If exact date is unknown, the $5.00 fee includes 1 hour of research. If research extends beyond the hour, the $15 per hour research fee will go into effect. Please provide as much information as possible about name, date, and place of death.

Please be sure to email us at at the address provided on this page. The old meyersdalelibrary.com addresses are no longer valid, as that web domain is not owned nor operated by our library at this time.

Email is not always reliable. We encourage you to provide an alternate means of contacting you if you desire a reply! If you have not received a reply to an email you have sent us, and you didn’t include an alternate means of contact, please follow up. It is disappointing to research a query only to have an email bounce back to us as undeliverable for whatever reason, and to be unable to contact the party by another means.

In addition to research fees, copy costs as noted above apply.
