We really are OPEN and eager to see you!

We still encounter people who don’t realize that the library is back open, and operating as normally as possible. We’re back to our usual hours (10-7 weekdays, 10-5 Saturday). You may come in, browse, and check out items. We only ask that you wear a face covering and maintain social distancing. Please return checked-out items via the outdoor book return. When we collect them from the return, they are quarantined for a number of days for safety. We’re not charging late fees, so you need not worry that the items aren’t checked in right away. We even have an entire new category of items you may check out! (see below)

There are fewer computers available for use due to social distancing requirements, but there are open computers ready for use at most times. We sanitize work stations between patrons, so sometimes that causes a small delay. We’ve added a new workspace to sit with your own laptop and use our Wi-Fi. (There’s even an outlet available to charge your laptop or phone.) Our Wi-Fi has been extended to reach across the street into the park area.

As I mentioned earlier, we have a totally new category of library items available to borrow. We are loaning items and kits related to STEM education. (These are all quarantined between loans for safety!) For instance, we have simple, programmable robots (Bee Bots and Ozobots) and circuitry kits. The very newest additions are Take & Make Kits.

A Take & Make kit combines a book with a fun STEM learning project kit and age-appropriate challenge cards. Check one out, take it home, enjoy it, and learn. Each kit is quarantined for two weeks between loans for safety. (Time is the best COVID-19 sanitizer for items that are difficult to clean with soap and water or disinfectant cleaners!)
